Follow-up to OIG’s Evaluation of Fairness and Consistency in the Disciplinary Process for CPD Members
The Public Safety section of the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General (OIG) has completed a follow-up to its June 2022 evaluation, Fairness and Consistency in the Disciplinary Process for Chicago Police Department (CPD) Members. In this follow-up, OIG assesses the corrective actions taken by the agencies in response to each recommendation.

Advisory on Regulating the Conduct of City Council Members
The Municipal Code of Chicago (MCC) grants the Office of Inspector General (OIG) the authority to investigate misconduct by Alderpersons, as elected officers of the City, pursuant to MCC §§ 2-56-030(b) and -050(a)(1). The specific redressable misconduct by Alderpersons which OIG can investigate, however, is limited. In contrast to City employees, Alderpersons are not subject to the City of Chicago Personnel Rules or the City’s Diversity and Equal Employment Opportunity Policy.

Audit of the Chicago Department of Public Health’s Mental Health Equity
The City of Chicago Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted an audit of equity in the provision of mental health services as reflected in the Chicago Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) Mental Health Equity Initiative (MHEI) network.
