Summary

The Public Safety section of the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General (OIG) has completed a follow-up to its September 2023 evaluation of Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) 911 Response Time Data Collection and Reporting.

Executive Summary

In its 2023 report, OIG examined how often dispatched CPD members appropriately recorded timestamps when responding to 911 calls for service and factors contributing to missing response time data. Based on CPD’s response, OIG concludes that CPD has fully implemented one, substantially implemented two, and not implemented two of the corrective actions related to the evaluation findings.
