Nate Wackman

Nate Wackman is the general counsel for the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General (OIG). He has been general counsel since April 2022. He joined OIG in 2020 and served as associate general counsel for public safety until he became general counsel.

Prior to joining OIG, he practiced law at Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago, served as a law clerk to Judge Edith H. Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and was a police officer with the Houston Police Department.

Wackman is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law and the University of Chicago.
