Chris Markle

Christopher ‘Chris’ Markle has served as the chief data and information analyst for the Office of Inspector General (OIG) since July 2026. In this role, Markle supervises a team of IT specialists that oversee and manage OIG’s technology infrastructure.

With over 20 years of IT experience, Markle has experience driving enterprise transformation through systems improvement, workforce modernization, data architecture, and AI-integration. Previously, Markle served as assistant director for the Enterprise Decision Support division of the Department of the Interior’s Office of Wildland Fire.

Markle is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 20 years, retiring as a captain in 2008. During his military service, he deployed five times to various theaters of operation providing IT and network services support. He also instructed leadership courses at the Air Force’s Air University.

Markle holds a BS in information systems management, a MS in technology management, and an MBA, all from the University of Maryland. He is also working on his dissertation to complete a PhD in industrial organizational psychology from Capella University.
