This dashboard depicts arrest trends based on time periods and specific arrest characteristics. Users can adjust the timeline to assess how trends have changed over months and years.

Some questions this dashboard can answer include: 

  • Which month had the highest number of arrests in the past three years?
  • What is the average number of arrests in the past month?
  • Has the number of arrests increased or decreased in the last month? 

Data Sources  

Chicago Police Department (CPD) databases and Chicago Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (CHIPPS). Records begin January 1, 2022, and the data is typically refreshed weekly on Sundays. Data represents the information that is in the CPD databases as of the date of last update (listed at the top of the dashboards). The information in these dashboards only includes data from completed and approved Arrest Reports.
