Explanation of Priority Levels

There are three main priority levels for calls resulting in a unit dispatch:

Level 1: Immediate Dispatch for life-threatening emergencies
Level 2: Rapid Dispatch for situations where timely public safety action has the potential to affect the outcome of an incident
Level 3: Routine Dispatch when calls do not involve an immediate threat to life or bodily harm

About McKinley Park

McKinley Park is an official community area of Chicago located on the Southwest Side and is the geographic center of the City. McKinley Park features several notable landmarks, including the William McKinley Monument, McKinley Ice Rink, and the McKinley Community Garden.

1. Choose the Geographic Detail

Under the “Choose The Geographic Detail” dropdown menu, select “Community Area”.

2. Select A Start Date

Under “Timeframe”, click on the first date field and select January 1st, 2024 as the start date.

3. Select A End Date

Under “Timeframe”, click on the last date field and select December 31st, 2024 as the end date. We now have 2024 selected as the timeframe range.

4. Choose A Priority Level

Under the “Priority Level” dropdown, click the checkbox next to “All” to deselect as the chosen value.

5. Choosing Priority Level 1

Under the same dropdown menu, select “1 – Immediate Dispatch”.

6. Selecting McKinley Park

Under the “Calls and Population by Community Area” section of the dashboard, scroll down and click to select ‘McKinley Park” to highlight the area on the map view.
