Audit of Opportunities for Civilianization in Chicago Fire Department

Summary

The City of Chicago Office of Inspector General (OIG) has completed an audit identifying
civilianization opportunities in the Chicago Fire Department (CFD). In this audit, we evaluated the duties and responsibilities of positions held by 555 CFD uniformed members to determine if the positions needed or benefitted from firefighter or paramedic training and experience.
