This dashboard breaks up arrest data by seasonality period to showcase variations in the number of arrests by time of year. Users can filter the data by time frame and certain arrest characteristics.

Some questions this dashboard can answer include: 

  • Are there certain months that consistently see the highest number of arrests each year?
  • What months see the highest number of arrests of people in schools?
  • Does seasonality impact the level of reported uses of force by the Chicago Police Department? 

Data Sources 

CPD databases and Chicago Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (CHIPPS). Records begin January 1, 2022, and the data is typically refreshed weekly on Sundays. Data represents the information that is in the CPD databases as of the date of last update (listed at the top of the dashboards). The information in these dashboards only includes data from completed and approved Arrest Reports.
