CPD Arrests: District

What will you find here?

Users can filter this dashboard to analyze arrests in their police district—the geographic unit into which the Chicago Police Department (CPD) divides the City—over time. Additionally, the data can be filtered by arrest characteristics and compared across Districts.

Some questions that can be answered with data from this dashboard are:

  • Which District had the highest number of arrests in 2022?
  • What Districts have the highest number of arrests of designated gang members?
  • Which District had the lowest number of arrests overall in the last year?

Data Sources

All information presented in these dashboards is based on data stored in CPD databases and Chicago Integrated Personnel and Payroll Systems (CHIPPS), the City’s human resources information system. Records begin January 1, 2022, and the data is typically refreshed weekly on Sundays. Data represents the information that is in the CPD databases as of the date of last update (listed at the top of the dashboards). The information in these dashboards only includes data from completed and approved Arrest Reports.
