City Council Passes Amendment to the Inspector General’s enabling ordinance

3/2010

The amendment transferred the authority to monitor and report on employment actions from the Office of Compliance to the Office of the Inspector General. The OIG established a Hiring Oversight (OIGHO) division designed to ensure compliance non-political hiring processes. Pursuant to the March 2010 amendment, the City agreed to a new reporting requirement allowing OIGHO to publically post quarterly reports. Additionally, OIGHO can report reviews and audits of hiring data, monitoring of hiring processes, and results of sustained hiring related investigations.
