Melissa Villa

Deputy Inspector General – Technology and Analytics

Melissa Villa joined the Office of Inspector General in 2000 and currently serves as the Deputy Inspector General for Technology and Analytics. In this role, she oversees OIG’s IT infrastructure and devises strategies to leverage technology and analysis to help drive change and increase efficiency within City government. Her tenure includes applying statistical models to decipher underlying trends, patterns, and analyses that enable OIG to develop cases, conduct citywide program reviews and audits, and monitor citywide hiring practices. In addition, Villa has led the development of data integration processes, data warehouse solutions, and building interactive business intelligence dashboards.

Villa earned a BA in History from DePaul University and an MS in Analytics from the University of Chicago. She is certified in Data Governance and is an Officer for the Association of Inspector General Illinois Chapter.
