Kathryn Richards, Chief Assistant Inspector General, Legal
Kathryn Richards joined the Office of Inspector General in 2010 as an Assistant Inspector General and currently serves as Chief Assistant Inspector General. She manages a team of seven Assistant Inspector Generals and provides legal support and guidance to all OIG investigations, performance audits, and program reviews. From 2008 to 2010, Richards served as a staff law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Her previous experience includes serving as a law clerk with the City of Chicago Department of Law and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Rita M. Novak in the Circuit Court of Cook County. She is a Certified Inspector General through the Association of Inspectors General. Richards holds a BA from New York University and a JD from DePaul University College of Law.
