Kate Simon joined the Office of Inspector General in 2021 as a Chief Performance Analyst for Public Safety. Previously, she served as Executive Director of Research, Development, and Accountability at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. She had been with Sheriff’s Office since 2014, where she was also a Research Analyst, Director of Research, and Deputy Chief Information Officer. Before that, Simon worked in a number of different positions for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. She also worked as a graduate intern for the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic. She has BA in Social Work from New York University and an MA in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.
