The 2019 Public Safety Survey seeks input from both Chicago community members and Chicago Police Department members regarding your concerns about policing and priorities for improvement. Your responses will help inform our work and prioritize the topics OIG’s Public Safety Section will evaluate, inspect, and review in the coming year. The survey should take approximately five minutes to complete, and participation is voluntary and anonymous. Summary statistics based on survey responses will be published in the Public Safety Section Annual Report. The community survey is also available in Spanish.
The Public Safety Section of the Office of Inspector General conducts independent, evidence-based evaluations, inspections, and reviews of the operations, programs, policies, and practices of the City’s police and police accountability agencies: the Chicago Police Department, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, and the Chicago Police Board. The Section is focused on enhancing the effectiveness of public safety, protecting civil liberties and civil rights, and increasing the public’s confidence in the system. Find out more about our work.
