Significant Activity Report: State of Illinois v Leon Brown

On September 6, 2017, following a one day bench trial in the Circuit Court of Cook County, IL, Leon Brown, a former employee of the City of Chicago, was found guilty on all 6 counts, including 2 counts of bribery (720 ILCS 5/33-1(d)(e)) and 4 counts of official misconduct (720 ILCS 5/33-3(b)(d)). State of Illinois v. Leon Brown 16-CR-3741 (Cir. Ct. of Cook County, IL.)

While working as a booter for the Department of Finance (DOF), Brown identified a vehicle that City records show required a boot and potential towing by the City. Brown solicited and received $100 in exchange for not reporting the vehicle to the City to be towed. As a result of this incident DOF terminated Brown in early 2016 and placed him on the ineligible for rehire list.

On September 28, 2017 at 9:30 am, Judge Flood will conduct a hearing on post-trial motions and the pre-sentence investigation.
