City of Chicago Collective Bargaining Agreements

Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) are contracts between the City and the labor unions that represent City employees. They are important documents as they dictate not only what City employees will be paid, but in many parts of City government, how operations must be managed. While the full text of the CBAs and attachments is presented at the link to the right, there may be additional agreements between the City and the labor unions, such as “side letters” and “memoranda of understanding”, that are not presented. Unlike the CBAs, the City has not maintained a publicly available, central collection of side letters or memoranda of understanding. We are working on obtaining the full universe of these agreements and will make this information available once we do. You can find the CBAs and attachments at the link to the right on the Department of Law’s website.
